Wellness Care- "An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure
"- As part of our large animal preventative care, we provide vaccinations, de-worming, and dental care, and general physical exams. We provide consultation to our clients on a number of topics including nutrition, rehabilitation, geriatric care, pregnancy and foaling.
Time of Need Care - We offer care for your large animals in case of sickness, lameness, injury, metabolic problems, or chronic illness. We are equipped to provide intravenous fluids and some on site laboratory results. Emergency care is provided year round on a 24 hour basis.
Pre-Purchase Examinations- An extensive physical, soundness, and neurologic examination is strongly recommended prior to the purchase of a horse. The information gathered can be used by the prospective buyer and/or agent to determine whether the horse will be serviceable for it's intended use. Other elective exams may include laboratory tests, radiographs, endoscopic, and ultrasound exams.
Geriatric Care- Aged horses can have sub-clinical health care issues that can be identified and treated before they become a problem. If your horse is over 20 years of age we recommend a complete physical examination and blood testing to establish baseline values.
Lameness Examination- Evaluate the locomotion of your horse. We use a variety of techniques to identify the source(s) of lameness including physical examination and palpation, flexion tests, and joint and nerve blocks. Radiography, ultrasound, and laboratory tests help us to further evaluate the source of your horse's lameness.
Surgery- Standing or recumbent surgery of the horse is performed for castration, biopsy and laceration repair and multiple elective soft tissue procedures.
Reproduction- We offer complete broodmare services including ultrasound interpretation of cycle, pregnancy diagnosis and artificial insemination with fresh, frozen, or shipped cooled semen. Stallion collection for breeding/shipping semen. Semen evaluation, teasing, post partum care, uterine lavage, foal care and uterine culture/cytology.
Ultrasonography- Uses sound waves to evaluate soft tissues like tendons and ligaments, reproductive organs, lumps, and tumors. It is painless and non-invasive.
Radiography- Uses x-rays to visualize bone for abnormalities including arthritic changes, fractures, bone cysts and bone infection. Our unit is capable of evaluating most Equine joints and the head.
Endoscopy- Utilizes a fiber optic device for evaluating the upper airway of the horse, including the larynx, sinuses and guttural pouches. The trachea and upper esophagus can also be examined with this flexible device. Useful in prepurchase examinations, pnuemonias, or reactive airway disease.
Podiatry- Foot surgery and procedures abscesses, white line disease, foot lameness, corrective farrier planning and referral, and consultatiom with farriers.
Clinical Pathology- In house and outside lab facilities for testing. Inhouse CBC/chemistry panels, microbiology, cytology, Coggins testing. Access to State laboratory and Antech laboratory for additional testing and diagnostic tests.
Allergy Testing/Hyposensitization- Serum allergy testing and treatment program provided. Allergen treatment sets are formulated for your horse based on individual results.
